Adhesive-coated plastic sheets for use in manufacture in the nature of disposable adhesive sheet material coated with high density polyethylene (HDPE) plastic, and which are affixed to a hardwood board with screws and covered on one side with mechanical fasteners that are hooked or otherwise shaped to outwardly extend and grip, the foregoing for use as drag wipers on the tension stand apparatus of slitting machines that treat flat rolled steel and other sheet materials by acting as a buffer in order to protect steel mults from scratching, to remove excess oil, and to aid with a tighter rewind as the steel mults are packaged
