An Approval Engine is a solution that is part of the software used in the Xena Health Medical Billing process. The Approval Engine is "the as you type rules engine containing the inbuilt knowledge of our users". The Approval Engine is used by Medical Billing processing personnel to improve the accuracy of the medical billing/claim information that is created, and then forwarded to a medical insurer for payment. This improved accuracy substantially reduces the number of items of Claim information that are denied by the medical insurers. The Approval Engine is used to combat the growth of the Medical Claim denial engines that are used by various medical insurers
