bar code based automobile tracking system used by autotrac consists of a barrier gate, a bar code reader, a computer and a bar code label placed on the vehicle; the system reads the bar code and identifiers the vehicle as being permitted to enter the area protected by the barrier gate; when a vehicle is identified as having permission to enter the area, the barrier gate lifts to allow access and the computer notes that specific vehicle has gained entry to the system; the system does not provide for the vehicle to be tracked once inside the system or to locate the vehicle other than to note that it has entered the premises protected by the barrier gate for use by parking lots, garages, or other similar entities for providing vehicle entry and tracking
