Vehicle mounted electronic recording devices, containing sensors to record data for measuring high energy events, such as those that can be generated from a) explosive blasts arising from land mines or improvised explosive devices, b) vehicular impacts and collisions which can cause sudden motion, and generated impulsive loads on personnel, c) translation, namely, the relationship between the movement of the vehicle and the people inside the vehicle, and the impact of personnel with vehicular internal surfaces or other personnel, d) sudden loads that can be imparted from kinetic or ballistic impacts experienced by the vehicle which may be penetrating or non-penetrating, and other such high energy deposition events which can result in impulsive loads to the occupants
