The California State Coastal Conservancy, through its enabling legislation (Cal. Public Resources Code Section 31000, et seq.) works with other public agencies, nonprofit organizations, community groups, landowners and business entities to develop land restoration and enhancement plans for coastal areas throughout that state and the San Francisco Bay; the conservancy also undertakes acquisition, enhancement and restoration projects directly, and provides funding and/or technical assistance to other public agencies and/or nonprofit organizations
