Forest habitat reforestation: GFW provides reforestation services to address reclaimed coal mine lands by removing or controlling exotic, invasive vegetation, cross-ripping soil to loosen the compact ground, and planting a mix of high-value, native trees and or their seeds, shrubs, and native flower species, thus converting compromised land back into healthy and productive native forests. Habitat restoration and creation are also performed by enhancing wetland and stream ecosystems through seeding and planting of native wetland and riparian plants, as well as placement of habitat structures (e.g., woody debris, rocks, and boulders) to increase structural complexity
