The Intelligent Media Manager (IMM) is a unit that securely houses, manages and dispenses CDs, DVDs, and other media to authorized users; The Intelligent Media Manager (IMM) consists of a computer, an electronic controller, computer software and robotic machinery, all of which facilitate the self-service operations in libraries and other retail and commercial environments where CD / DVD media is used; Loading, dispensing, checking in and checking out CDs / DVDs and similar optical media (Blu-Ray, HD, ;;;) are the main capabilities of the Intelligent Media Manager (IMM); The Intelligent Media Manager (IMM) communicates with the main library or business information system to validate patron / user identity, to process fees, if any, and to validate the availability for dispensing the requested item and related check-in / check-out functions; In addition, during the check-in mode, the device validates the returned item, creates a return transaction record, and updates the user and library / business information system information; The device is equipped with touch screen option, multilingual voice prompts, and barcode, magnetic and RFID readers.
