Traction enhancement devices for automobiles, trucks and recreational vehicles, said traction enhancement devices comprising a plurality of chains, each of which is secured to the periphery of a rotatable disk which is pneumatically, hydraulically, or mechanically movable from a retracted position where the chains do not touch the ground, to a deployed position where the disk engages the sidewall of a tire, so that as the tire rotates, the chains are repeatedly thrown by centrifugal force into the space in front of and beneath the tire as the tire rotates, thereby enhancing tire traction on slick surfaces
