A device using cellular telephone technology and Internet protocol to transmit data to a remote server for purposes of reporting on the status of the remote monitored equipment. The device connects to sensors which monitor real parameters such as temperature, pressure, etc. Data is collected by a remote server for purposes of viewing via a web portal. Optionally, the device may receive and send short text messages directly to other cell phones. Printed reports are not generated by the device. Real data is reported directly to a web server
