Livelink Directory Services is a software program that provides seamless connectivity between the Livelink Server and a central directory service, supporting both the Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) as well as NT Domain registries which allows users to administer users and groups for each Livelink service within a central directory and have Livelink synchronize the Livelink service that it controls with the user and group Information from the directory service Users are transparently logged into Livelink using the credentials stored in the directory service and are not required to enter their username and password when entering Livelink This authentication facility is supported for web browser access (under the control of the HTTP-server) as well as for applications that access Livelink through the Livelink Application Program Interface (LAPI)
