Medical staffs that have all or most of their physicians in a single group or practice arrangement, closed departments, contract departments, or a very small number of physicians have serious challenges in performing peer review in accordance with the statutory requirements PeerMetrx is a professional evaluation expert review and measurement program that serves as an effective external peer review processes designed to meet the current and future operational and accreditation requirements The purpose of this program is to-- -Help in the identification, if medical staff quality issues exist, and if they do, to what extent -Help identify if existing medical staff peer review processes are effective, ethical, just and valid -Help eliminate costly external consultants and contractor fees Help assure compliance with HCQIA, applicable state and federal laws, and accreditation standards -Help expand to include additional system locations and risk exposures as needed
