The name "Private Biographer" describes services provided for the custom production of a book, website, or other recorded version of the history of a person, family, firm, or other entity. Since the Biographer may at times learn confidential information from a client, the "Private" aspect of the Biographer's work is material. "Private Biographer" also, in a literal sense, generally provides a client with a "good" in the form of a published book, a complete website, a final .PDF file, or other form of preserving the story for which the client has contracted. Private Biographer uses others from time-to-time in support of production for clients: designers, writers, photographers, and others associated with text and graphic output. Usually Private Biographer produces multiple copies of the books commissioned by a client
