System for tracking the number, location, distance and outcome of golf shots, and for computing, analyzing and displaying statistics relevant thereto, comprised of golf-club-mounted electronic sensors for automatically detecting and transmitting information about golf shots, and an electronic receiver which receives and stores information about the location of transmitter-equipped golf clubs to detect the presence or absence of one or more golf clubs from a golf bag, or from a predetermined distance from the receiver; Golf-club-mounted sensors for detecting and transmitting information about golf shots; golf clubs equipped with sensors for automatically detecting and transmitting information about golf shots; golf-club-mounted sensors for transmitting information about the location of the golf club; golf clubs equipped with sensors for transmitting information about the location of the golf club; electronic receiver which receives and stores information about golf shots from transmitter-equipped golf clubs; electronic receiver which receives and stores information about golf shots from transmitter-equipped golf clubs, and combines the information with information about the location, distance and outcome of such golf shots; electronic receiver which receives and stores information about the location of transmitter-equipped golf clubs to detect the presence or absence of one or more golf clubs from a golf bag, or from a predetermined distance from the receiver; internet-based system comprised of computer interfaces and downloadable software for uploading information about the number, location, distance and outcome of golf shots, which computes statistics relevant thereto and displays the resulting data; and internet-based system comprised of computer interfaces and downloadable software which permits data about the number, location, distance and outcome of golf shots, and statistics relevant thereto, to be analyzed by a golf professional
