This is a new theory that revamps the current "First Five" program theory that is widely known but only focuses on child growth and development from 0-5. My theory Start at the Base and Stay in place encompasses ages 0-18 and the importance of remaining in place not just the first 5 years but the remaining 13 as well. I use a tree as a model. The base of the tree as the child starting out and the branches as the years of life. The leaves would be milestones in that year. A tree with only 5 branches isn't very strong. It can stand but will need support. A tree with all its branches stands strong for years to come. Give your child a strong base
