A swapcation is an informal, workplace slang term that blends “shift swap” and “vacation”. It refers to time off that an employee earns not by using standard vacation leave, but by strategically trading shifts with coworkers until they’ve cleared a block of days to rest, travel, or attend personal events. Also known as Swap-earned leave OR Shift trade break OR Swap-earned vacation.
