Battery packs primarily comprised of multiple modules of rechargeable lithium-ion batteries, battery module enclosures, local battery management systems for each of the battery modules primarily comprised of printed circuit boards (PCBs) and software primarily used for voltage and temperature monitoring of the modules and passive cell (block) balancing using bleed resistors, and an overall battery management system for the entire battery pack primarily comprised of printed circuit boards (PCBs), circuits for high voltage, electrical components in the nature of electrical contactors and protection relays, and software primarily used for monitoring and controlling the local battery management systems and for monitoring the state of charge and state of health of the battery pack, reporting error codes, and maximizing the performance and safety of the battery pack, for use in electric grid storage and grid stabilization applications
