An electronic instrument to be used in a neuroscience research lab, to give a thermal stimulation to a single neuron or a group of neurons while under imaging or electrophysiological analysis. Said stimulation is applied in a rapid time course where a jump of as much as 50 degrees Celsius can be effected in several milliseconds. The word ?Clamp? is part of the mark because the device can lock-in to a specific temperature with a settling time of milliseconds, and then, in effect, ?clamping? the specimen at a specific temperature for an extended period of time. e.g. the instrument known as a ?Patch Clamp? used in neuroscience research which can ?clamp? a neuron at a specific voltage
