not-for-profit organization devoted to the promotion of public interest in preserving and recreating the era of World War I aviation through the conducting of fly-in conventions; the providing of information regarding World War I aircraft; encouraging participation in airshows; establishing a clearing house for those wishing to buy or sell aircraft, aircraft materials, plans, engines, artifacts, weaponry and projects; establishing a register of completed aircraft and those under construction; encouraging the building of replicas which are as authentic and historically correct as possible; establishing a network of historians and expert builders to provide guidance in building projects; establishing a library and archives to contain literature, data, and publications to be used as a repository and reference base for historical purposes; and providing a permanent foundation for individuals to donate artifacts and pertinent materials
