The Medal of Honor Host City program is designed and initiated by the Ctiy of Gainesville to promote duty, patriotism and service to country by honoring all Medal od Honor recipients who visit Gainesville, Texas; When visiting Gainesville each recipient are provided a stipend to cover lodging, meals and fuel expense whin in the city; The intent is to protect the integrity of the program; If other communities or cities wish to establish such a program permission would be granted from The Medal of Honor Host City Program, Gainesville, Texas
