The Project Man provides consulting services, including custom training development, training delivery, and system implementation support specifically associated with the formal Project Management discipline and profession; This includes consulting, training, and support for both the documented and certifiable methodologies, principles, and practices associated with formal Project Management, and the various software tools and systems used to implement and execute this formal discipline; The term "project", as used in this description, relates to a temporary and relatively short-term venture, undertaking, missions, endeavor, or job within a larger organization; In business, short-term could mean three months (i;e;, a software development project) or ten years (i;e;, a fighter jet development project); Certain types of businesses and industries practice what is called "management by projects" where all work is "projectized" and temporary project teams are organized to execute the project; Examples of the lines of business that typically implement this formal discipline include, but are not limited to, aerospace and defense, pharmaceutical, software development, construction, transportation, energy, and various engineering disciplines; The term "Project Management", as used in this description, relates to a formal management discipline and profession with a documented and certifiable set of recommended, approved, and/or required methodologies, principles, and practices for managing projects--not unlike other formal disciplines and professions, such as "Construction Management", "Contract Management", or even "Accounting"; The predominant certifying body within our management discipline and profession is the Project Management Institute (PMI) which maintains the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK) and controls the certification of Project Management Professionals (PMP); In addition, in the government project arena there are more extensive required Project Management practices, referred to as "Earned Value Management" that must be adhered to when working on any government project worth more than $20 million; The term "Project Management software", as used in this description, relates to unique and specialized software tools and systems used to support the methodologies, principles, and practices associated with formal Project Management and Earned Value Management; This includes software tools that support specific disciplines within project management, including critical path scheduling, cost analysis, and risk analysis
