Expressive mood light system, consisting primarily of a plurality of display plates that each have an image and text thereon that depict an emotional facial expression and a corresponding mood description, with a selected one of the display plates being supported on a base having a light source therein that is directed onto the supported plate to illuminate the display plate in order to express a person's current mood and promote conversation with others regarding the person's mood.
