miscellaneous services, namely, providing assistance to crime victims in the form of practical services such as food, short and long-term counselling, advocacy with the criminal justice system (police and courts), legal assistance, and day care and shelter for domestic violence victims; and public advocacy on behalf of victims of crime including informing legislators about programs offered by the applicant and about issues affecting crime victims in order to affect official policies to accommodate victims rights; information services to the public, crime victims, law enforcement, health care and social work professionals, students and policy makers about the issues involving crime victimization, violence prevention, the availability of treatment for victims and options such as mediation as an alternative to violence
